This past fall a photography buddy of mine and I took a road trip to the Porcupine Mountains in northern Michigan right along lake superior. We packed up enough food for two days, packed our hammocks in our back packs along with photography gear and started out on our 16mile hike. The funny part is, we only hiked 6miles. We got in there and would be like “Oh sweet! lets stop an take some pictures of this! oh check it out!” and yeah, only made it a few miles…..I guess I’ll have to go back and finish it sometime.
I had the most amazing spot EVER to hang my hammock…..I hung it on the edge of a 15 foot drop down to lake superior in a clump of birch trees. We had a nice fire going, the sound of the waves coming across the lake, and for a few hours everything was perfect. That was, until we saw storm clouds rolling in. At midnight it was dumping rain and we were finding every way to turn or hammocks into rain blocks. We stick it out for probably an hour before we decided to relocate deeper in the woods to hopefully not get soooo wet. It worked, we found a good stop among some dry trees and spent the rest of the night there.
Someday in the near future, I hope to take another, but longer hiking/camping/rock climbing/repelling trip.

I’m always looking for visual inspiration, things that inspire me creatively, things that inspire me spiritually, things that drive me on to the next level. Today this video was an inspirations in every way.
